Fresco Three Minoan Women Knossos

Minoan Fresco of the Ladies in Blue depicts the women in the open blouse that was typical in the later Minoan Culture.
The fresco fragments were discovered during the excavation of a Minoan site in Crete by the British archaeologist Sir Arthur John Evans. They were uncovered in the west wing of the Palace of Knossos. The fresco was later significantly restored by Swiss artist Emile Gilliéron and his son, Emile, as the chief fresco restorers at Knossos

Minoan Art. La Parisienne or the Minoan Lady

Minoan Art. La Parisienne or the Minoan Lady with the sacral knot at the back of the neck that seems to indicate that she is a priestess or even a goddess. The fresco uses the black colour for emphasizing the form of the eyes and red for the lips. It dates from the Neopalatial period, ca. 1400 B.C. The Herakleion Archaeological Museum. Crete

Restored View of Queen's Megaron (w/c)

It is a smaller room with a similar layout and rich decoration. Evans thought that it must have belonged to the Queen. Fragments of frescoes with dolphins and dancing ladies were found here. The room is largely restored and copies of the wall paintings have been put up on the walls. At the end of the room, a low partition wall with one column created a small space.
