John Robinson, a name synonymous with speed and skill in the world of motorcycle racing. From his early days as part of an Anglo-Swiss co-operation in the 1965 Sidecar TT, to his partnership with Fritz Scheidegger on a BMW in the 1966 Sidecar TT, John was always at the forefront of thrilling races. In that same year, he left spectators awestruck during the 1965 Sidecar TT. The roar of engines and screeching tires filled the air as John fearlessly maneuvered through challenging bends and hairpin turns. But it wasn't just sidecar racing where John showcased his talent. In 1984, astride a Suzuki bike, he dominated the Senior TT race. The crowd erupted into cheers as he crossed the finish line victorious, leaving competitors trailing behind. The Southern 100 event held in 1982 saw John once again proving himself on a Suzuki bike. His precision and determination were unmatched as he conquered every twist and turn on that demanding circuit. Not limited to one brand or model, John also excelled on a Spondon Rotax bike during the Junior TT race in 1984. With lightning-fast reflexes and unparalleled control over his machine, he left spectators breathless with each lap completed. Beyond racing tracks, John's talents extended into other realms too. In architecture, he won recognition for his Marine Palace design which earned him a prestigious Royal Academy Prize engraving. However impressive these achievements may be, there is more to this enigmatic figure than meets the eye. Known by some as "The Apostate Jack Robinson, " others referred to him as "The Political Rat Catcher. " A man who had mastered not only speed but also intrigue and political cunning. Whether tearing up racetracks or captivating audiences with architectural brilliance or even engaging in political machinations - one thing remains clear: John Robinson's legacy will forever be etched in the annals of motorcycle racing and beyond.
