Jamie Whitham: A Legend on Two Wheels From the moment he first revved his engine, Jamie Whitham proved himself to be a force to be reckoned with in the world of motorcycle racing. With his fearless attitude and unparalleled skills, he left an indelible mark on the sport. In 1988, riding for Durex Suzuki, Whitham showcased his mastery over wet conditions during the Slippery when wet race. The way he maneuvered through treacherous corners was nothing short of awe-inspiring. That same year, aboard a Suzuki once again, Whitham dominated the Senior TT and Production C TT races at the Isle of Man. His speed and precision were unmatched as he tore through each lap with unwavering determination. Fast forward to 2005 when Whitham switched gears and joined Yamaha for their Classic Lap event. Even after all those years, his talent remained intact as he effortlessly glided across the track. Teaming up with Mark Phillips on a Bimota Yamaha in 1988 Formula One TT race was another highlight in Whitham's career. Together they formed an unstoppable duo that left their competitors eating dust. The following year saw him conquer yet another challenge - this time on a Kawasaki alongside Pete Smethurst (Armstrong) at the Newcomers Manx Grand Prix. Their partnership proved fruitful as they soared past their rivals towards victory. Whitham's triumphs continued throughout his career; whether it was winning races or setting records like in 1986 Production D TT or 1989 Production 1300 TT where he demonstrated sheer dominance astride his trusty Suzuki machine. His legacy extends beyond just one brand though - even Ducati recognized his prowess when they invited him for a parade lap in 2008. Riding a Ducati underlined how versatile and adaptable Jamie truly was throughout his illustrious career.
