Iena, a name that echoes through history with both triumph and tragedy. From the Battle of Jena to the disastrous explosions on board the French battleship Iena, this name has witnessed it all. In an engraving depicting Le General Augereau, we see a glimpse of the bravery and determination that defined Iena's legacy. The same can be said for Le General Davout, whose image is immortalized in another striking engraving. But not all moments associated with they were filled with valor. An explosion on board the battleship caused chaos and injury, as depicted in a vivid color lithograph. Yet even amidst devastation, there was resilience - King Edward VII visited the ship to offer support and solidarity. Le Fruhschoppen captures a more lighthearted moment aboard Iena - perhaps a brief respite from its tumultuous past. However, accidents still plagued this vessel as shown in another colorful lithograph. The Trophe serves as a reminder of glory days gone by - an oil painting capturing the grandeur of times when Iena reigned supreme. And speaking of ancient times, Ancient Orient reveals Persians exposing mortal remains in a colored engraving dating back to 1866. Lastly, The Oath of Sassoni to Napoleon Bonaparte showcases loyalty and allegiance towards one man who left an indelible mark on history - just like Iena did throughout its existence. Through triumphs and tragedies alike, Iena stands tall as witness to human courage and perseverance. Its story is etched into engravings and paintings; reminders of both glorious victories and heartbreaking losses.
