The House of Windsor is the reigning royal house of the United Kingdom and several other Commonwealth realms. It was founded by King George V in 1917 when he changed the name of his family from Saxe-Coburg and Gotha to Windsor, due to anti-German sentiment during World War I. The House of Windsor has since been a major part of British history, with its members playing an important role in politics, culture, and society.

The current head of the House is Queen Elizabeth II, who ascended to the throne in 1952 after her father George VI's death. Since then she has reigned for over sixty years and is now Britain's longest-serving monarch. She is also head of state for sixteen other Commonwealth realms including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica and Barbados. Her eldest son Charles is heir apparent to the throne and will succeed her upon her death or abdication.

The House has had a long line of distinguished members throughout its history including Queen Victoria (1837–1901), Edward VII (1901–10), George V (1910–36) and Edward VIII (1936). Other notable members include Princess Diana (the late wife of Prince Charles) as well as Princes William and Harry (sons of Charles). The family also includes many other prominent figures such as Prime Minister Winston Churchill who served during World War II; Prince Philip Duke Of Edinburgh; Prince Andrew Duke Of York; Princess Anne; Prince Edward Earl Of Wessex; Sophie Countess Of Wessex; Peter Phillips And Zara Phillips Tindall And Many More Members Who Are All Part Of The Royal Family Tree .

The House has played an important role in British politics over the years with many members taking on roles such as ambassadors or representatives for their country abroad or at home. They have also been involved in charity work both domestically within Britain but also internationally through organizations such as UNICEF which works towards improving children’s lives around the world.

In conclusion it can be said that The House Of Windsor Is A Royal Family That Has Played An Important Role In British History For Over A Century And Will Continue To Do So For Years To Come As Its Members Continue To Serve Their Country In Various Ways Both At Home And Abroad .
