The Grand Duke of Tuscany, a magnificent collection of statues that transport you to the realms of ancient mythology and Roman gods. Amongst them stands the Statue of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, seated naked with a bunch of grapes in one hand and a loyal dog by his side. Nearby is the striking figure of Orestes, son of Agamemnon in Greek mythology, depicted in all his naked glory. As you continue your journey through this captivating exhibit, your eyes are drawn to Diana of Ephesus. She stands proudly with her bare breasts exposed and her body encased in a beautifully decorated pillar. Next to her is Urania, muse of astronomy, holding a pair of compasses as if mapping out the stars themselves. Further along lies an awe-inspiring statue depicting a victorious disc thrower or perhaps an accomplished athlete celebrating their triumph. Their sculpted form captures the essence and gracefulness that comes from years dedicated to perfecting their craft. In another corner stands Hercules Pomarius, armed with his mighty club symbolizing strength and power befitting both hero and god alike. A little further on is yet another representation of Bacchus; this time he is accompanied by a playful satyr as they revel together in their love for wine. Mars takes center stage next - the Roman god of war donning his helmet and shield exuding an aura both intimidating and commanding respect. Not far away is Diana Venatrix; she embodies femininity while simultaneously showcasing her prowess as goddess hunter with bow, arrow, and quiver at her disposal. Apollo Coelispex gazes skyward holding aloft a flaming torch illuminating not only himself but also those who dare venture near him – reminding us all that knowledge can light our way even amidst darkness. Lastly but certainly not least we find Ganymede -the shepherd youth abducted by Zeus- standing tall alongside an eagle symbolizing freedom and the boundless possibilities that await us all.
