Women have long been underrepresented in the transportation industry, but that is changing. In recent years, they have become more prominent in the industry, taking on roles as professional drivers and entrepreneurs. Women are now driving for ride-hailing companies like Uber and Lyft, starting their own trucking companies, and even competing in professional racing events. The number of women entering the transportation industry has grown significantly over the past decade. According to a survey conducted by Women In Trucking Association (WITA), women make up 6% of all truckers in the United States – up from 4% just 10 years ago. This trend is expected to continue as more women enter the field due to increased opportunities and better pay. In addition to driving trucks and cars professionally, many they can also using their skills to start their own businesses or pursue other entrepreneurial endeavors related to transportation. For example, some women are launching ride-sharing services that focus on providing safe rides for children or elderly passengers; others are creating apps that help people find rideshare options; while still others are developing technologies that improve safety for both riders and drivers alike.
