Scottish forest close up of branch in Autumn Featured Print

Scottish forest close up of branch in Autumn

In Scotland, between The River Garry and Loch Oich, near the Village of Invergarry is a magical unnamed magical mossy forest that looks like it's right out of a fairytale. On this cold December morning a rare event occurred. Cold temperatures, fog, and a high pressure front created perfect conditions for hoar frost to form. Before my very eyes, the forest transformed into a mystical sugar coated delight. You can see the beginnings of the frost coating the tree top canopies, delicately glazing the intricate branches

Still Life - Hollow Rock in BW Featured Print

Still Life - Hollow Rock in BW

Hollow Rock is an iconic structure located just south of Grand Portage Minnesota on Lake Superior about 10 miles south of the Canada. The star of the show is of course, the rock formation known as Hollow Rock. The unique geologic formation juts out from the shore as Lake Superior continues to splash around and through the craggy hollow. The rock changes with the waves and the weather. In the winter it is dusted with snow or decorated with glistening ice formations. When the sky is calm and the lake a peaceful periwinkle blue, visitors can leapfrog across the rocks to almost enter the hollow. There are few experiences more rewarding or relaxing than making your way to the opening to sit and listen to the a€œgulg-gulg-gulga€ of the waves against the worn cavern walls
