WOOTTON BASSETT UNITED DAIRIES, Wiltshire. The Dairy Supply Company opened its factory in 1908 and merged with United Dairies in 1915. The premises finally closed in February 2003 and have since been demolished to make way for housing (Cloatley Crescent, Dior Drive..). BUTLER'S WHARF, Shad Thames, London. From 1921 children had to be at least 12 years old before they could work full-time, though some of these boys look younger. They appear to be labelling tins of tea. Their work benches are made of wooden panels and upturned tea chests. Unknown photographer. Photograph c.1910.

CADBY HALL, Hammersmith Road, Hammersmith, Greater London. Two women filling a Sirocco roaster with coffee beans at the factory of J Lyons and Company. This photograph was taken for J Lyons and Company who purchased Cadby Hall, a former piano showroom and associated manufacturing buildings, in 1894. These women workers are contributing to the war effort. Photographed by Bedford Lemere & Co in July 1918.
