Elocution: The Art of Boasting with Precision and Grace, as Depicted in this Engraving. Lancelot White, a 7-year-old prodigy, charmed audiences with his impeccable pronunciation and enunciation. Malice and joy were equally expressed through the power of spoken word, as captured in this engraving. Hermann Vezin, an American actor, teacher of elocution, and writer, graced the stage and the page with his expertise, as seen in this photograph by St. James Photographic Co. From 1883. Alexander Graham Bell, the British inventor, and his future wife, Mabel Gardiner Hubbard, shared a love for elocution, using it to connect and communicate effectively. Vezin, still teaching at 82, continued to inspire generations, and Christophoros Lee Sugg, Professor of Internal Elocution, carried on the tradition. The art transcended time, touching the hearts and minds of all who mastered it, from the radio broadcast to the stage.
