Don Juan of Austria, also known as John of Austria, was a legendary figure in European history. Born in 1547 as the illegitimate son of Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, he rose to prominence as a military leader and statesman. Don Juan is best remembered for his victory at the Battle of Lepanto in 1571, where he led the Christian fleet to defeat the Ottoman Empire's navy.
