Greenough was a thriving agricultural centre in the 1960s but droughts, floods
Greenough was a thriving agricultural centre in the 1960s but droughts, floods and poor prices led to a decline in the population and by the turn of the century many buildings had fallen into disrepair. Restoration began in the 1970s under the National Trust, and Central Greenough Historic Settlement now showcases many aspects of local colonial life in the late 19th century, such as in the school.
