Dave Corlett is a legendary name in the world of motorcycle racing. With an impressive career spanning several decades, he has left his mark on various prestigious events. In 1976, Corlett showcased his skills on the Jurby Road aboard a Suzuki, setting the stage for what would become an illustrious journey. Throughout the years, Corlett teamed up with esteemed partners such as Steve Sinnott and Dennis Proudman to conquer some of the most challenging races. Together with Sinnott, he triumphed at the Sidecar TT in 1998 and 1999 riding Kawasaki machines under SKS and SMW banners respectively. In 1982, it was Proudman who joined forces with Corlett on a Westco Suzuki to dominate at the Southern 100. Their victory solidified their status as formidable competitors in this exhilarating sport. Corlett's passion for racing continued undeterred into more recent times. In 2011, astride a Honda bike, he participated in the Senior Classic Manx Grand Prix – an event that showcases timeless motorcycles and celebrates their enduring legacy. The Lightweight Manx Grand Prix proved to be another arena where Corlett thrived. Riding Kawasaki bikes in both 2013 and 2015 editions of this race, he displayed unwavering determination and skill that earned him well-deserved recognition among his peers. Not limited to just one brand or type of race, Corlett also took part in Post TT events throughout his career. In 2013, astride a powerful Kawasaki machine once again, he demonstrated why he was considered one of the best riders around. Corlett's achievements extend beyond individual accolades; they encompass teamwork too. His partnerships with Gavin Lupton (Honda) and Anthony Redmond (Yamaha) during the Lightweight Manx Grand Prix in 2014 exemplify how collaboration can lead to extraordinary results on track. With each passing year came new challenges, and Corlett rose to meet them head-on.
