Transport - Queen Mary - Southampton
The lights of the Cunard liner Queen Mary are reflected in the dark water of Southampton Docks, taken as she was prepared for her last departure on her last two-way transatlantic crossing. After nearly 32 years service, the giant vessel is to go to Long Beach, California, at the end of next month to become a floating hotel and maritime museum.

Handley Page Hinaidi
Cruising at 120 km/h, this is a stately old lady of a bomber - yet it will remain in service with the RAF till 1933, and this scene in India seems quite appropriate...

Winter cruise fashions for 1937
Fashions for cruising from Bradley's department store of Chepstow Place, London. In the centre is a dress of slub linen. The skirt is cut on trouser lines, cleverly made so that the division is to all intents and purposes invisible. On the left is a suit consisting of flannel trousers, a royal blue coat, and a crepe de Chine blouse with graduated spots. Grey flannel makes the trousers seen on the right and blue stockinette the blouse. Date: 1937
