George Cruikshank was a renowned British artist and illustrator who lived from 1792 to 1878. His works captured the essence of London's transformation during the expansion of the city in the early 19th century. Through his vivid illustrations, he depicted scenes ranging from London going out of town to raining cats and dogs. One of Cruikshank's notable contributions was his collaboration with Pierce Egan on "Life in London" in 1821.
