The first theatre to be designed to incorporate a speaker system for sound films. It is the largest surviving movie house of the 1920s - fully restored in 1988. Architect - C. Odeon Cinema, Swiss Cottage, Camden, London. Oscar Deutsch established the Odeon cinema chain in 1933, and Odeon became a registered trade mark. His cinemas followed a style, embracing the modern movement and Art Deco, and many were new builds designed by Harry Weedon. In 1963 she received what was then the highest fee for appearing in a film, when she signed up to play the title role in Cleopatra
