Carson is a city located in Los Angeles County, California, and is the youngest municipality in the South Bay region of Los Angeles and is known for its diverse population and vibrant culture. A population of approximately 91,000 people and covers an area of 19 square miles. The city was founded in 1968 by Robert F. Carson, who purchased land from the Dominguez family to create what would become the City of Carson. Carson is home to many attractions such as the Home Depot Center, which hosts professional soccer matches and other sporting events; California State University Dominguez Hills; StubHub Center (formerly Home Depot Center), which hosts concerts and other entertainment events; Victoria Park Golf Course; International Soccer Park; Veterans Park; SouthBay Pavilion Mall; and many more recreational facilities.
