In the picturesque town of Leamington Spa, All Saints Parish Church played host to a significant event in the 1920s. Reverend Arthur Winnington-Ingram, a renowned clergyman, presided over a ceremony in July 1927. The occasion? The transfer of a monumental tapestry, created by Graham Sutherland, from All Saints to the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Boddington, Gloucestershire, UK. The intricately woven masterpiece, now a cherished possession of St Mary's, was carefully transported in a crate. The journey was not an easy one, but the sight of the new addition adorning the walls of the quaint country church was worth the effort. The Celtic Cross at St Mary's, covered in lichens, stood proudly as a testament to the rich history and tradition of these sacred spaces.
