Calavera Tapatia's 1910 lithograph and the 1460s Virgin with a Lily share an intriguing connection with the enigmatic figure Pasha. This alias was adopted by a notorious New Mexican bandit, whose exploits were immortalized in Jean-Louis Forain's satirical sketches, "Bolo pacha," created around 1914-1919. The moniker also resurfaced in the annals of US military history with the Douglas B-18A Bolo bomber used by the Army's 27th Reconnaissance Group. As Bolo Pasha stood trial for treason in a New Mexico courtroom, the world's fascination with this elusive character continued to grow, bridging centuries and cultures.
