Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, 25 year old peer, driving at Beaulieu House in his 1903 De Dion Bouton, waves to his sister, the Hon. Mrs Clark-Kennedy, in a daffodil patch. The car is to be seen in his Montagu Motor Car Museum. A warrant was granted by Lymington magistrates on 15th October 1953 for the arrest of Lord Montagu on a charge of "conspiracy to incite certain male persons to commit serious offences with male persons".

'Lord Thurlow', (1731-1806), 1830. Edward Thurlow (1731-1806) British lawyer and Tory politician educated at King's School, Canterbury, Caius College, Cambridge and Inner Temple. Defeated in the case of Woodfall, publisher of the Letters of Junius, He sat in the House of Commons from 1765-1778, was raised to the peerage and served as Lord High Chancellor for 14 years under four Prime Ministers.
