Les Honneurs sous le feu. Georges Scott, (1873-1943). Scott Started His Career In The 1890S And Worked As War Correspondent For The News Magazine 'L'Illustration' During The Balkan Wars Of 1912-13. When War Broke Out In 1914, He Joined The French Army And Was Able To Continue His Work As Artist/Illustrator For That Same Prestigious Publication, Producing Many Now Famous Works Dealing With The Great War.

A heavy gun battery moving uphill during the Balkan campaign
A French heavy-gun battery move up a steep hill during fighting with the Bulgarian army on the Macedonian border, October 1916. The battery was part of the Allied army based at the Greek port of Salonika and required a team of sixteen horses to move the weapon up the sharp incline pictured.
