It's the circular ward block for the workhouse infirmary, designed in 1889 by architect R.P. Whellock, and opened the following year at Havil Street, Camberwell. Each of its four storeys contained 24 beds radiating around a central shaft in which were loacted the building's heating and ventilation services. Date: 1889

The first theatre to be designed to incorporate a speaker system for sound films. It is the largest surviving movie house of the 1920s - fully restored in 1988. Architect - C.
