Exploring the breathtaking beauty of Albania with Anders Geidemark. In June 2009, we ventured to Syri i Kalter (The Blue Eye) spring, a mesmerizing natural wonder that left us in awe. The crystal-clear turquoise waters were truly enchanting. At Karavasta Lagoons National Park, the sunrise painted a stunning picture of pine trees against the golden sky. Witnessing a Black winged stilt gracefully soaring through the air was a sight to behold. And nearby, we spotted a Little egret peacefully coexisting with four majestic horses. In Shebeniku-Jabllanica National Park, we encountered a Hermann's tortoise, an ancient creature thriving in its natural habitat. The landscape around Syri i Kalter was simply magical; mist gently enveloped the lake creating an ethereal atmosphere. Llogoraja National Park offered picturesque views of pine trees emerging from fluffy clouds. Meanwhile, at Karavasta Lagoons National Park, three Dalmatian pelicans perched on a mound amidst calm waters added charm to this serene setting. Driving along mountain roads through Beech forests in Thethi National Park provided us with unforgettable moments and glimpses of Vlora city in the distance reminded us of Albania's rich cultural heritage. Albania proved to be a hidden gem for nature enthusiasts like Anders Geidemark and me. Its diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife make it an ideal destination for those seeking adventure and tranquility.
