With a lineage steeped in musical excellence, it's no surprise that Alec has become a prominent figure in the industry. From his early days as part of the Mark Nightingale Quintet to his performances with Splash Point Jazz at The Fishermans Eastbourne on June 30th, 2021, Alec's talent shines through. He effortlessly carries on the family legacy while adding his unique touch to every performance. In a captivating photograph captured by Brian Foskett, we see Alec alongside his father John Dankworth during their appearance at the Brecon Jazz Festival in Wales back in 1995, and is evident that music runs deep within this family as they share an intimate moment on stage. Throughout his career, Alec has collaborated with esteemed musicians such as Chico Freeman and Peter King. Their joint performance at the Brecon Jazz Festival in Powys, Wales in 2006 was undoubtedly one for the books. The chemistry between these artists created an unforgettable experience for all who were fortunate enough to witness it. Not only does Alec excel as a performer but he also contributes to fundraising efforts within the jazz community. In November 2017, he participated in an NJA fundraising gig held in Loughton, Essex. His dedication to supporting fellow musicians showcases not only his immense talent but also his generous spirit. Whether gracing stages like Stan Reynolds Big Band or enchanting audiences at Love Supreme Jazz Festival at Glynde Place East Sussex in July 2015; Alec consistently delivers exceptional performances that leave listeners captivated and yearning for more.
