Abdulmejid I was the 31st Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, ruling from 1839 to 1861. Known for his progressive reforms and modernization efforts, Abdulmejid I implemented changes in education, law, and infrastructure during his reign. He established the first telegraph line in the empire and introduced a new legal code based on European models.
