Roman statue of Hercules
Roman statue of Hercules. This marble statue of Hercules, 3.17 metres high, is a copy made by Glycon in 200-210 AD of a smaller original Greek bronze sculpture of the 4th century BC by Lysippus. It depicts the 11th labour of Hercules, where he rests on his club in the garden of the Hesperides after retrieving the golden apples, which he is holding behind his back. This statue was originally located in the Baths of Caracalla in Rome. This statue is now displayed in the Archaeological Museum of Naples, Italy
