From July to September 1897, a commercial relief process unfolded, bringing forth a wave of innovative masterpieces that captivated audiences. One such gem was Harper's January 1894 lithograph sheet measuring 17 5/16 inches. Its intricate details showcased the artist's skillful brushwork and left viewers in awe. As autumn arrived, October through December witnessed another surge of artistic brilliance with the continuation of the commercial relief process from both 1896 and 1897. Paula Brebion's "Le Cafe Concert, " a mesmerizing brush lithograph printed in 1893, transported onlookers to an enchanting world filled with music and mirth. Meanwhile, an etching titled "Concert" from as early as1774 revealed its first state - three Bocher - offering a glimpse into historical musical gatherings. Delving further into history brought us face-to-face with a breathtaking etching known as "Birth Virgin. " This remarkable piece hails from the sixteenth century and measures precisely at12 1/16 inches. Its delicate lines tell tales of devotion and faith that have stood the test of time. Intriguingly juxtaposed against these timeless works is R. H Russell's Poster Calendar for both years:1897 &1896. These captivating lithographs captured hearts with their vibrant colors and imaginative designs during Christmas celebrations. Venturing beyond traditional themes led us to discover extraordinary pieces like "Bowl Horseman Spearing Serpent, " originating from late1300s or early1400s. The dynamic portrayal depicted bravery amidst mythical creatures' challenges—a testament to human resilience throughout centuries. Another fascinating find was an etching entitled "Sack Troy" from 1535-55.
