Pallass Cat Collection

Pallas's Cat, also known as the Manul, is a small wild cat native to the grasslands and montane steppes of Central Asia, and is named after German naturalist Peter Simon Pallas who first described the species in 1776. The cat has a thick, long fur that ranges from sandy-gray to yellowish-gray with dark brown spots and stripes on its body. Its face has a flat appearance with short ears, large eyes and a wide muzzle. Pallas's Cat is an elusive animal that lives in rocky areas or burrows made by other animals such as marmots. It feeds mainly on small rodents such as pikas and voles but will also eat birds, insects and lizards if available. Due to its remote habitat and shy nature, it is rarely seen by humans but can be found in parts of Mongolia, China, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Russia. Conservation efforts are underway to protect this unique species from habitat loss due to human activities such as mining or grazing livestock.
