Born Gabrielle-Charlotte Rejane Desmoulins on February 21, 1856, in Paris, France, she made her theatrical debut in 1873 at the age of 17. Rejane quickly rose to fame for her exceptional acting abilities and magnetic stage presence, becoming one of the most celebrated actresses of her time.
