Glaciar Torre
Los Glaciares National Park (Spanish: Parque Nacional Los Glaciares) is a federal protected area in Santa Cruz Province, Argentina. The park covers an area of 726, 927 ha (7, 269.27 km2; 2, 806.68 sq mi), making it the second largest national park in the country. Established on 11 May 1937, [1] it houses a representative sample of the Magellanic Subpolar Forest and western Patagonian Steppe biodiversity in good state of conservation. In 1980 it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.[2]The parks name refers to the giant ice cap in the Andes range that feeds 47 large glaciers, of which 13 flow towards the Atlantic Ocean. The ice cap is the largest outside of Antarctica and Greenland. In other parts of the world, glaciers start at a height of at least 2, 500 m (8, 200 ft) above mean sea level, but due to the size of the ice cap, these glaciers begin at only 1, 500 m (4, 900 ft), sliding down to 200 m (660 ft) Los Glaciares borders Torres del Paine National Park to the south in Chilean territory

EDITORS COMMENTS
This stunning print captures the majestic beauty of Glaciar Torre in Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina. Spanning over 726,927 hectares, this federal protected area is the second largest national park in the country. Established in 1937, it showcases a remarkable diversity of flora and fauna from the Magellanic Subpolar Forest to the western Patagonian Steppe. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980, Los Glaciares National Park is renowned for its colossal ice cap that nourishes an impressive network of 47 glaciers. Among them, thirteen flow towards the Atlantic Ocean. This ice cap stands as one of the largest outside Antarctica and Greenland. Unlike glaciers found elsewhere around the world that typically start at altitudes above 2,500 meters above sea level, these glaciers begin their descent at just 1,500 meters before reaching down to approximately 200 meters. The sheer scale and grandeur of this natural wonder are truly awe-inspiring. In addition to its breathtaking landscapes and icy wonders, Los Glaciares National Park shares its southern border with Torres del Paine National Park located in Chilean territory. Together they form a vast expanse of pristine wilderness that captivates nature enthusiasts from around the globe. This print by RalonsoPhotographer from Fine Art Storehouse allows you to bring home a piece of this extraordinary natural marvel and experience its magnificence every day.
