Two Gothic windows destroyed by the Blitz in London

These two large and beautiful old stone and Gothic style windows are the remains of the abandoned church of St Dunstan in the East, located in the business district of the city of London, London, United Kingdom.
Through the windows we can see part of the small park inside this abandoned church. The walls are covered with wild plants and there are many trees and exotic plants. An isolated, quiet and unexpected place.
St Dunstan in the East church was destroyed in 1941 during the German blitz and bombings on the English capital. In 1967, it was decided to build a public garden around and inside its ruins.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the haunting beauty of two Gothic windows that were tragically destroyed during the Blitz in London. These magnificent remnants belong to the abandoned St Dunstan in the East church, nestled within the bustling business district of the city. Peering through these shattered windows, a glimpse into an unexpected oasis unfolds before our eyes. The once hallowed grounds now serve as a small park, enveloped by walls adorned with untamed wild plants and embraced by numerous trees and exotic flora. It is a serene haven amidst chaos. The history surrounding this place adds depth to its allure. In 1941, during relentless German bombings on England's capital, St Dunstan in the East church fell victim to destruction. However, rather than allowing it to fade into oblivion, a decision was made in 1967 to transform its ruins into a public garden. Natural light cascades through these broken windows, casting ethereal hues upon nature's canvas within this enchanting sanctuary. The interplay between light and colors creates an atmosphere both melancholic and hopeful—a testament to resilience amidst devastation. This print serves as a poignant reminder of how even amid destruction and loss, beauty can emerge from ashes—offering solace and tranquility where one least expects it.
