The whole of the Bridge would be of Iron, having the carriage way McAdamised, and the footways laid down with Pennant flag stones - The beams of carriage way would be secured with compound suspension trusses - The 4 sets of chains which support the Bridge are estimated to sustain on transit a load of 500 tons - The piers are designed to be of cast iron. Central Span 81ft. 4ins. the outside openings 19ft. 5ins. and 16ft. 6ins. Total water way 117ft. 3ins. Height above water the same as Soffit of present Bridge. Total breadth of roadway 48ft. viz. a Carriage way 27ft. and two Footways each 9ft. wide.
