EDITORS COMMENTS
This coloured engraving, titled "The lesser Mock-Bird" showcases the exquisite artistry of George Edwards and Michael Seligmann. Created between 1749-73, this print is a testament to their dedication in capturing the beauty of nature. Originally engraved by George Edwards for his renowned works "A Natural History of Uncommon Birds" and "Gleanings of Natural History". Now preserved in a private collection, this print continues to inspire awe and admiration among enthusiasts of birds, animals, illustration, and natural history alike. Its timeless appeal transcends boundaries as it invites us into an era where artistry met science in perfect harmony.
