Journal of the Academy of Natural Sciences, 2nc. Series, Vol. 2. Pl. 6 & 4. The left-hand page (Pl. 6) is a Cassins Auklet (Mergulus Cassinii) and the right-hand page (Pl. 4) is a White-throated Screech Owl (Syrnium Albogularis).
John Cassin (1813-1869) was an outstanding American ornithologist, head of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphias bird department and associated with the J.T.
