Ice skating has been known to the Nordic people since ancient times and was probably the first winter sport practiced by women; for tobogganing used to be, when gallantry ruled everything instead of the modern spirit of camaraderie, for them it wasn't really a sporting activity. 130 years ago, top performances and holding championships did not play a role either.
