This print showcases four exquisite plates from the 19th century Order of the Bath, specifically belonging to knights of grand cross in the military division. Each plate represents a distinguished individual and is a testament to their noble status within this prestigious order. The top plate belonged to Adolphe Frederic, Duke of Cambridge (1774-1850) and was skillfully crafted by Rundell, Bridge & Rundell in London. Made from gold, silver, and enamels, it measures 10.9 cm in height and weighs an impressive 112 g. On the left side, we find another grand cross knight plate manufactured by Widdowson & Veale in London. This stunning piece features gold, silver, diamonds, and an emerald embellishment. It stands at 8.8 cm tall and weighs 94 g. The right side presents yet another grand cross knight plate created by Rundell, Bridge & Rundell. With its intricate design using gold, silver, and enamels; it measures 9.3 cm in height and weighs a delicate 68 g. Lastly but equally remarkable is the bottom plaque de chevalier de grand-cross produced by Coudray in Paris during the early 19th century. Crafted with gold, silver, and enamels; it stands at 10.6 cm high with a weight of approximately108 g. These extraordinary plates are part of a private collection curated by Luisa Ricciarini that captures the essence of British history through these magnificent artifacts associated with one of its most esteemed orders - The Order of the Bath.
