Burrell Showmans Road Locomotive Prince of Wales HR6658 (msn 3887), at the 1959 Crystal Palace Steam Rally. (Charles Burrell & Sons were builders of steam traction engines, agricultural machinery, steam lorries and steam tram engines. The company were based in Thetford, Norfolk and operated from the St Nicholas works on Minstergate and St Nicholas Street, some of which survives today). Date: 1959

A Post Office telegraph from O.M.H.S. Buckingham Palace, dated 15th August 14. To E. D. Towse, Esq., Swanley Village, Kent. It reads You will have seen in the newspapers that the Prince of Wales is raising a National Relief Fund to alleviate the acute distress which must inevitably arise on account of the war. Your name has been suggested by the Committee to his Royal Highness as one from whom a subscription may be expected. Scene at the Metropolitan Police centenary celebrations, showing the Prince of Wales (the future King Edward VIII) and senior police officers including Lord Byng (Commissioner of Police) and Colonel Laurie (Assistant Commissioner), returning to Buckingham Palace on horseback after the parade in Hyde Park.
