A portrait of Mrs Lillie Langtry. Born Emilie Charlotte Le Breton, was a British music hall singer and stage actress famous for her many stage productions including She Stoops to Conquer, The Lady of Lyons and As You Like It.
She had a number of relationships with British Royals, firstly as the Royal mistress of The Prince of Wales, Albert Edward. As that ended she began an affair with the Earl of Shrewsbury. She also had a brief affair with the German Prince Louis of Battenberg

Promotional postcard for The Little Damozel by Monckton Hoffe. First produced Wyndhams Theatre, 21st October 1909. A naval captain pays one of his crew to marry a woman. At the bottom of the image it states: The Little Damozel has TWICE received the honour of a Command Performance before T. M. The King and Queen at Sandringham. Direct from Wyndhams and the Prince of Wales, where it was transferred 27th December 1909. Date: circa 1909
