Skelton Collection

Skelton is a small village located in the Redcar and Cleveland borough of North Yorkshire, England and is situated on the south bank of the River Tees and has a population of around 1,500 people. The village dates back to at least 1086 when it was mentioned in the Domesday Book as 'Scaltun'. A long history with evidence of Iron Age settlements and Roman remains found in the area. The village also boasts many historical buildings including St Paul's Church which dates from 1790, Skelton Castle which was built by Robert de Brus II in 1216 and Skelton Grange which was built by Sir William Turner in 1620. Today, Skelton is home to several businesses including pubs, restaurants and shops as well as schools and leisure facilities for its residents to enjoy.
