Oddingley Dovecote OP08634
Dovecote, Oddingley, Worcestershire, 14 May 1894. Percy Thomas Deakin (c1864-?1927), platinum print. Percy Deakin was a keen recorder of historic buildings and made meticulous notes, writing on the reverse of his mounts the photographic technique he had used and the date the photograph was taken. The Oddingley dovecote, built around 1600, had become dilapidated by 1930 and was later demolished. Deakin'?s view therefore has an added significance, but the photograph attracts us as much for the figures of the woman and child in the foreground as for the historic dovecote in its picturesque setting
