This striking photograph captures the intensity and determination of Edward Turner, a prominent Welsh pugilist of the 19th century. Turner, born in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, made a name for himself in the world of boxing during a time when the sport was in its infancy and still largely governed by brutal, no-holds-barred rules.
