Born on October 14, 1890, in Denison, Texas, Eisenhower rose to prominence as a brilliant military strategist, leading the Allied forces to victory in Europe during World War II as Supreme Allied Commander. He was later elected President in 1952, serving from 1953 to 1961. In this image, Eisenhower is shown in 1969, several years after leaving the White House.
