Born on May 1, 1850, Arthur was the youngest son of the legendary monarch who ruled the British Empire from 1837 to 1901. The Duke's regal bearing and distinguished appearance are evident in this historical image, which showcases his military uniform adorned with medals and insignia. Arthur's military career began at a young age, and he served in various capacities within the British Army, including as aide-de-camp to his mother, Queen Victoria, and as the Governor General of Canada from 1911 to 1916. The Duke's tenure as Governor General was marked by significant accomplishments, including the establishment of the Canadian National Railways and the expansion of the Canadian military.
