Sir Charles Napier (1782-1853) was a prominent British military and diplomatic figure, best known for his role in the Crimean War (1853-1856). In this photograph from Mary Evans Picture Library, Napier is seen waving from the balcony of a grand building in Stockholm, Sweden.
