This print captures the North Midlands XV rugby team in all their glory during the 1933/1934 season. The anticipation is palpable as they gather before their highly anticipated match against the International Scorers XV at Villa Park on March 3rd, 1934. Standing tall in the back row, we see a formidable lineup of players including H. Kenyon, H. Hill, W. J. Bird, R. Shrimpton from Worcester, Wood, L. F. Emblem and C. G. Trentham from Moseley, along with Mr. G. Yeats who officiates as referee for this momentous occasion. In the front row are K. Shortridge from Moseley, P. Cranmer representing Oxford & England with A. L. Warr also donning Oxford & England colors beside him. P. C. Hordern proudly represents Gloucester & England while W. H. Hill stands strong for Moseley alongside E. S. Baker from Old Edwardians and J. Macdowall also hailing from Old Edwardians. The ground beneath them holds significance too as it bears witness to H. R. K. Broughton and G. E. S.
