16th October 2022, Silverstone, Northamptonshire, England: The HSCC Historic Touring Car Championship with Ecurie Classic came to a thrilling conclusion at the Silverstone Finals, with a 20-minute race that saw a diverse grid of historic touring cars battle it out on the iconic Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit. Among the grid were some iconic machines, such as Tim Mogridge's Triumph TR4, David Hall's Ford Lotus Cortina, and a host of other GT and tin-top cars spanning engine capacities from as low as 4 pots below 1150cc to mighty multi-litre V8s. The cars in this race, which combined several classifications into one, ranged in age from around 1947 up to 1969. The event, organized by the Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC), was a celebration of historic motor racing, with a nostalgic atmosphere that transported spectators back in time. The race was contested by a variety of cars, including GT cars, production sports cars, and tin-tops. The Triumph TR4 of Tim Mogridge and the Ford Lotus Cortina of David Hall were among the standout entries in the production GT cars category. The cars were shod with Dunlop tyres, ensuring that they had the grip and performance needed to tackle the demanding Silverstone circuit. The FIA Appendix K regulations provided a level playing field for all the competitors, ensuring that the focus was on driving skill rather than horsepower.
