Amidst the drizzle and dull weather at Silverstone Circuit in Towcester, Northamptonshire, England, the Vintage Sports Car Club (VSCC) kicked off their season with the prestigious Pomeroy Trophy event on the 17th of February, 2024. This historic motorsport competition, first held in 1952, showcased a diverse array of cars from various eras and types. The Pomeroy Trophy itself was just one of several awards given out throughout the day, with the Densham Trophy, Pomeroy Edwardian Trophy, Voiturette Trophy, and Gordon Spice Cup also up for grabs. In this image, we find Tony Lees and his Vauxhall Viper Aero making a swift maneuver during the auto-tests portion of the event. The Viper Aero, a sleek and fast saloon car, is a modern addition to the vintage lineup, adding a touch of retro-futurism to the otherwise pre-war scene.
