Cathleen Nesbitt: A Remarkable Career Spanning Seven Decades in Film and Theatre This photograph portrays Cathleen Nesbitt, an English film and stage actress who graced the screens and stages of the early 20th century. Born in 1888, Nesbitt's illustrious career began in the late 1900s and continued uninterrupted until her retirement in the 1970s, spanning an impressive seventy years. Nesbitt was not only a celebrated actress but also a muse and inspiration to renowned poet Rupert Brooke. Their friendship began in the 1910s when they both attended the same acting school, and Brooke penned several poems in her honor.
