Massena was a pre-dreadnought battleship of the French Navy, built in the 1890s. A member of a group of five broadly similar battleships, ordered in response to the British Royal Sovereign class. She was named in honour of Marshal of France Andre Massena. Date: circa 1905

Duchess of Cleveland, from a painting by Sir Peter Lely. . Handcolored engraving from Civil Costume of England from the Conquest to the Present Period drawn by Charles Martin and etched by Leopold Martin, London, Henry Bohn, 1842. The costumes were drawn from tapestries, monumental effigies, illuminated manuscripts and portraits. Charles and Leopold Martin were the sons of the romantic artist and mezzotint engraver John Martin (1789-1854)
