Maharajah Bhupinder Singh of Patiala (1891 - 1938) playing cricket. Perhaps best known for his extravagance, the Maharajah nevertheless worked for the betterment of social conditions within his kingdom. He was also a great patron of the sports and a first class cricketer. He captained the Indian cricket team who travelled to England in 1911 and played as a member of the Marylebone Cricket Club.
